52 Aftermarket Öhlins Front Suspension Struts, Part No. POS 5N20. 1. The affected struts are aftermarket parts sold for installation on certain Porsche vehicles. The said struts were shipped to customers as part of suspension kits. 2. Each kit contained two of the affected front struts, along with two rear struts, springs, and associated hardware (these other components are not affected by this recall) - See "Important Safety Recall". 3. Due to a design compatibility issue related to the interface between the vehicle’s top mount and the strut, the pin of the strut may experience excessive stress during maximum steering, which can lead to fatigue and, potentially, breakage of the pin. If the pin fails, it will result in the separation of the strut from the vehicle and compromise front wheel control, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. Öhlins Asia has identified a safety issue affecting specific Öhlins suspension struts, sold for installation by or on behalf of owners of pre-registered Porsche vehicles. Öhlins Asia’s most recent records indicate that ten (10) affected suspension kits containing the affected struts have been supplied to customers in Malaysia since spring 2014. To-date, ten (10) kits have been sold to one (1) dealer in Malaysia, namely, Trans Techno Enterprise Sdn Bhd. - Open Link
